You can request permanent deletion of your OwlSonic account. Please read what this process removes and what the current cloud architecture retains.
Delete your account from the app
- Sign in to OwlSonic on a supported device.
- Open the account-management area and look for the option to delete your account. If your installed build does not expose this option, use the support contact below.
- Enter your current account password when prompted.
- Confirm your deletion request.
The request is accepted by the service when account-deletion processing is initiated. Account access and sessions are revoked promptly. Deletion of account-related records continues in the background. The request cannot be undone and there is currently no automatic completion notification or guaranteed completion time.
What is deleted
The backend deletion process removes your account record and credentials; sessions and registered devices; personal library entries; playlists and playlist items; favorites and user-defined song metadata or mood settings; listening history and per-user playback statistics; synchronization records; and user-level quota and usage records.
What is not currently deleted
OwlSonic currently retains processed audio files, artwork, track metadata and content-level musical analysis after account deletion, potentially indefinitely. The direct account association is removed, but the retained material may be used for deduplicated/shared-content operation. Metadata or the media itself may still contain information associated with its original uploader. This retention is described in our Privacy Policy.
The server-side deletion process does not itself erase music files saved locally on your phone or computer. This does not guarantee what the installed application’s local-cleanup flow will do. Verify and back up your local music before you delete your account.
Operational logs, email-provider records and any external backups or snapshots may be retained independently of the account-deletion job and subject to separate retention practices.
If you cannot access the app
Email [email protected] with the subject Account deletion request and identify the email address associated with your OwlSonic account. We may ask you to verify control of the account before taking action.
Do not send us your password, verification codes or access tokens. If you have forgotten your password but can still access your email, the app’s password-reset flow may allow you to regain account access and submit the deletion request yourself.
Your data rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may be entitled to request additional deletion or review of retained information, including information that can still identify you. Please contact [email protected] so your request can be assessed. The account-deletion process and any legal right to erasure are not necessarily identical.
